Winter - the next in our series of seasonal images.
After the Autumn shoot, the team regathered a few months later, much more nervous than than before, back in the old aircraft simulator at Old Jet in Suffolk. With the first image we were just having fun, stretching ourselves and just happy to learn from the process. However, we achieved an image that we were really chuffed with so now we had to try and repeat it - much harder!
We wanted to create the penetrating icy feel of winter coupled with the image of a strong, fearless woman at home in her environment. Keeping the landscape pared back, bleak and barren was a challenge - I couldn't fill the set with the froth and whimsy I love. Moss, branches, swirls of vine and a few icy looking tricks were all I had at my disposal. Nevertheless, the team fears were unfounded and we were really pleased once more with the striking images we produced. In fact, I like this much more - what a team!
But now of course, worryingly, Spring is around the corner!
