The Cutting Garden Collective Workshop - A collaborative venture between Julie of Peonies & Posies and Brigitte of Moss & Stone
Middle English, from Old English, from Latin rosa; unconscious beauty
The rose - arguably the most loved and popular flower ever and the focus of this workshop. Julie and Brigitte will provide expert guidance on how to successfully grow beautiful summer roses for cutting in your garden and then artfully decorate your home with your own carefully nurtured, freshly picked blooms.
The morning session will take place in the inspiring atmosphere of Julie's stunning cutting garden just outside Bury St Edmunds, you will receive a full day of practical and hands on guidance. We will wander her beautiful plot for a couple of hours whilst Julie encourages the skills and confidence you need to sow, plan and plant a gorgeous cutting patch of your own for a continuous supply of blooms to arrange and enjoy.. She will show you around her garden, talk about her growing year, discuss various seed sowing techniques and how to successfully nurture your roses and achieve successional flowers.
Then we will travel 15 minutes down the road to Brigitte’s garden - a very less organised and very untidy affair! - for a delicious light lunch. After which, Brigitte will demonstrate how to use some of Julie's gorgeous roses and other summer delicacies to create a high summer inspired arrangement. She will discuss both the practicalities of how to condition and care for your flowers to maximise their vase life and her philosophy of letting the flowers and nature guide you when arranging. Then it will be your turn to have a go - you will forage for foliage and perhaps add a few bits from the garden to the carefully selected flowers that Brigitte will have waiting for you to arrange and then take home and enjoy.
Places are limited to 6.

“I really had the loveliest time with you and Julie. The combination of both your skills and expertise was so fabulous and I absolutely loved the easy and relaxed qualities of the day and both your teaching styles. I learnt so much...It was completely perfect in every way and especially wonderful to spend time with someone who also chats to the flowers and understands about them needing to have their say as well! All in all just wonderful.”
